i have maybe 150+ bds in 99SE
i have ported maybe 20
ones that have no future i maintain in 99SE

i would say i have spent at least cumulatively a person-month (to be
politically correct) on the conversion of 20 boards

what darren says is true, it's not hard it's just that it takes time
depending on the circumstances and when just starting w/ AD6 all the
terms and methods take time to learn

also in my case i was not using the 'sync' in 99SE as many had orcad
schematics and netlist loads

the footprint matching was another issue as we had not been rigorous
about getting those in the schematic although we were of course rigorous
about checking them on the board

the 4 way junction thing took yet more time

as well as the rooms and many other things which may not be essential to
port forward, but then you spend time to exclude those

classes in the PCB in 99se were another issue to clean up

and matching to a new database system was another issue

i don't think you can match the IDs unless both the sch and pcb are
brought forward

and frankly although i like AD6 i don't think it is any more productive
(read faster) to use, but one cannot stay with old software forever
