Thanks for bringing this up in it's own thread, it is needed. I have voiced 
a similar concern a couple of times but was pretty much overlooked or, 
similar to what has happened in this thread, discounted by some.

I don't believe the FIG is done, but I do think there needs to be a 
separate body for some of the things that have little to do with 
INTEROPERABILITY, which is SUPPOSED to be the goals of this group.

How we do that...I don't know. But I think as I said previously:

Let there be a new body created, separated from the FIG, and let them do as 
> they wish. If they adopt PSRs created by the FIG, so be it. If the FIG 
> finds some things in this new org that meet with their mission, so be it.
