Definitely good stuff, and recommended for anyone seeking maximum
quantity of redundant storage for the dollar.

Problem:  Theoretical limits on platter-to-circuitboard transfer rates do
not in any way correlate with resulting real-world performance, so your
statement is sadly non-sequitur.

Relevant comparisons would have to take into account such factors as
intelligent sorting of pending access (real-world, not theory), degree
to which theoretical specs are uniformly and reliably implemented,
hardware-level defect mapping, ability to do hardware-based low-level
reformatting and surface testing, expandability within bus capacity,
etc.  That's far too complex to cover in a LUG mailing list, so I'd
advise not trying.
