Don't use that as your init string. What you're doing there is
retrieve the factory settings and save it as a profile every time you
send that command. Just do a

AT&F
ATS0=1
AT&W

Do this one time only and then replace your init string with "ATZ" instead.

Search Google for Hayes AT command set if you want to learn what those
commands mean.
