I'd like to look at the other side of this; those of us who are answering, instead of asking. Recently, someone approached me that I did not know and asked about a company I used to work for. At what point is my feedback valuable, and, is there etiquette in a response?
I was a Programmer at a company, and a person going for Legal in one of their other U.S. locations asked me feedback - is my feedback, at that level, worth a snot? I'd assume not. There are some variables, such as where you were in the company and where this person is looking to go. There is also how long you stayed, and if you had enough time to honestly review the company, or did you take an ELS? It may be an idea that people who are asking or responding make sure there is common ground, instead of only a mutual company name.
