Gordon, On my brand new Boom the menu name "Server Power Control" doesn't fit the screen in the "Standard Narrow" default font. You get to read "Server Power Co" and then it scrolls. This is not only a cosmetic problem, I believe all this scrolling defeats menu bouncing, and often message display.
This scenario works perfectly on my SB Classic using the default font size: 1 Menu: "Server Power Control" 1 Action: right arrow 2 Menu: "Shutdown Server" 2 Action: right arrow 3 Bounce to Menu "Server Power Control" 4 Short wait 5 Message: "Shutdown is unavailable. Cata blah, blah" (1st sentence fully legible, plus some extra text.) 6 Message starts scrolling for some time. 7 Back to step 1. On my Boom, using the standard font, I have succeeded displaying the same text exactly twice out of 10 tries or more. The rest of the time, only the plugin name is scrolling after selecting a blocked action such as "Shutdown Server". When scrolling, the movement is jerky, it looks like the display is struggling (timeouts ?) => A Boom user may feel the plugin is simply not working. When normally proceeding to perform the action (no blocker set) the text displays better. When using the "Light Narrow" font on the Boom, everything works as expected. However, this font is a bit small, I doubt a majority of Boom users will select it. Every time the Boom failed to display the message I double-checked with my SB Classic standing next to it, and the blocker message was displayed. Also, could the message explaining the plugin is disabled be shorter ? Here is a full message I display (machine hostname is 'cata'), for example: "Shutdown is unavailable. Cata is requesting that the server stay running because of system keepalive." I tried adding as few words as possible, the message doesn't make a lot of sense, but it scrolls already on the SB, an twice as much on the Boom with the factory default font. I think this is clear. You need a Boom ;-) -- epoch1970 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
