Even if McCain's parents had been illegal "Mexicans," as long as "he"
was born in the US he's a US citizen. What they now call "anchor

More interesting food for thought; at the time of Obama's birth
(1961), Kenya was not a sovereign nation but a colony of the United
Kingdom.
Again, the question boils down to whether or not Obama can prove that
he is "natural born" citizen. The governor of Hawaii, Linda Lingle
(R), certifies that he is. I would be hard pressed to believe that the
governor would choose a path to self-destruction by knowingly
certifying a lie. Or even the appearance of a lie in the event the
birth certificate is subsequently invalidated by the court.
Meanwhile, there's another SCOTUS case pending out of New Jersey, but
this one goes after NJ's Sec. of State. Here's two of the relevant

In this case, the filing clerk played fast and loose with the Stay,
that is, he did not, on the eve of the election, forward in a timely
manner Donofrio's petition for the Stay to Justice Souter as required.
Thus the plot thickens.
