McCain needed a clarification, the meaning of "natural born."

What resulted suggested a wide latitude in the interpretation,
particularly since he was not born on US soil, but on a US base in a
foreign country. In other words, he was technically considered "un-
natural born" before the clarification, and made "natural born" after
the clarification. In addition, he had plenty of paperwork to support
the interpretation. He set a new precedent, which in turn opened the
door even wider to future interpretation.

Obama, on the other hand, lacks similar formalities. Nonetheless, he
has the law of the land, that is, the law as it was observed in
Hawaii. So, unless SCOTUS wants to delve into the conditions of
Hawaii's statehood, not to mention dragging in the State Department,
Immigration, the Census Bureau, not mention local/state custom...
