One stain of the UN is the scandal and corruption in the Oil for Food program... The almost total lack of honesty and transparency... Or the foolish Human Rights body who can only find abuse in Israel but not in a Zimbabwe, Syria, Iran, or Venezuela... Likewise the ideological bias at the UN always has being telling... It always has been sad to see otherwise good people to use their talents to justify a non functional body and their jobs...
I will still suggest language is a multipurpose tool, especially diplomatic language -- to clarify, to confuse, to talk just plain old talk BS, or to provide a CYA account for opposing sides... Still that you spent your working life there explains a great deal about your confused set of facts and ideology...
