"Derek, we lost them," Alex said her voice strained. They were in the store
one minute and gone the next. Rachel asked me to get something for her and
when I turned around she and Kat were both gone. Philip's getting the car,
we're going to try and find them."
"Hold on." Derek put the cell phone down, went down to lock the sephlicur
up, came back up the stairs and took the phone with him back to the Control
Room. Once there he explained to Alex what it was he was doing, which was
turning on a tracker for Rachel's car and then told her to go ahead and go
with Philip "I'll call you back with a location. And Alex...?"
He paused for a moment, lowering his gaze from the screen before adding
quietly "Be careful."
Then he hung up.
