We have observed that, some mails are getting bounced due to SMTPUTF8
required.
Mails are initially received on X.X.X.X system for our domain which is
running Postfix 3.5.25 on RHEL 9 OS. They are immediately relayed to
a server Y.Y.Y.Y which is running Postfix 2.10.1 on RHEL 7 OS.
The following is the log extract on server X.X.X.X running Postfix 3.5.25.
Sep 30 13:12:26 X.X.X.X postfix/smtp[80005]: 4hvn7j1FbKz3hn14:
to=<[email protected]>, relay=Y.Y.Y.Y:25, delay=1.4, delays=1.4/0/0/0,
dsn=5.6.7, status=bounced (SMTPUTF8 is required, but was not offered
by host Y.Y.Y.Y)
On server X.X.X.X
postconf smtputf8_enable
smtputf8_enable = yes
On server Y.Y.Y.Y
postconf smtputf8_enable
postconf: warning: smtputf8_enable: unknown parameter
There is no such parameter which can be configured.
As per readings, I am suppose to set smtputf8_enable = no.
Do I need to set this to 'NO' on System X.X.X.X running Postfix 3.5.25?
