Cook Plant uses a Ludlum 3030P or a Canberra S5E.
Contamination limit is 250,000 dpm.
Ideally, if higher contamination, we would get a lower activity smear. We
have also cut the smear and taken a smear of a smear.

Powernet: Alpha Counting

Duke Energy request to following information:

What do you use to count smears for alpha/ beta activity? Canberra
iSolo, Ludlum 3030P, other?

Do you have a limit on the activity (dpm) that can be counted using a
smear counter?

And if you have a limit on activity, what is the limit and how do you
count smears above the activity limit (beta) for alpha?
