It may be a red herring, but I was advised some time ago that the main 
cause of failure with inkjets was paper 'dust' jamming up the workings 
and that the best preventative measure was to give it a quick dyson 
from time to time.This may or may not be so, but it does seem logical, 
costs nothing  - and maybe your 1160 is slipping on the dust...
