This was a genuine question (one which I certainly tried to help out with), but not 'strictly' 100% Prodig.
As someone shooting digitally for four solid years, having created a full e-commerce web-site selling digital images from digital cameras, and having to transfer digital photographs from one computer to another to upload my digital photographs via a control panel, I insist that the issue was entirely PRODIG - Professional Digital. I have argued on a couple of occasions that defining PRODIG as cameras only is too removed from the real world of digital imaging. As professionals, many issues regarding imaging are related to getting our imagery to a public, commercial or consumer market. There is no point in discussing colour management at all if we can't discuss transfer of images to a third party, and all that entails, surely?

If a solution was found, it would (perhaps) come from people who are not necessarily 100% Pro Photographers, but people who are advanced amateurs/semi-pros who also have a healthy knowledge of Mac/PC probs as well as Networking and Comms.
Absolutely, hence "I know several very knowledgeable and welcome amateurs have left this list because of simply too much traffic."
As it happens, as my PC for uploading only was Windows XP home, there were no solutions to the MAC PC exchange. So question's still open :-)

Very few 100% Pros would have the time to know all this stuff as well!!!!
Respectfully disagree, as I said "primarily open to members earning 100% of their income from photography or photo related industries". This was carefully worded as I would unquestioningly value input from those who are MAC PC experts who deal with smudgers and imaging on a regular basis, even if not 100% FT photographers.

So those of us who are advanced amateurs/semi-pros with dreams, try to learn what we can, but also give back when we feel there is something of use/interest.
This comes back to Steve's point, in a way. How many amateurs actually contribute at a professional industry related level (I know a couple do!) and how many simply soak up our hard earned professional knowledge to shoot over our shoulders, flog cheap prints to local customers and undercut LOCAL (I'm not talking above the line here) professionals because they have no overheads and the cushion of a regular income. This is a whole other issue which is not directly related to this thread IMHO.

BTW: I hope you managed to sort your problem and also that the beer was good!!! :)

Beer went down very well, as it does most evenings now :-) Hi, my name is Glyn Davies and I'm 100% digital (round of applause! :-))

Very kind regards, and thanks for the huge input you have offered over recent months, much appreciated,

Glyn
