(dual 2gig G5 2gig Ram 50% allocated in PS CS . OS 10.3.2 )
1. Can you force an image to open in full screen mode from the file browser (normally press "F" do do this)? AHHH, just found the answer myself: hold down "F" while double clicking image, but is there a better way as sometimes it gets confused?
2. I notice the difference between healing speed between PS7 and PS CS; is with CS it writes to disk each time, but in PS7 I think it is holding the changes in ram?
3. I mentioned in an earlier post that I found it irritating to not be able to heal right up to the edge of the image (workaround; make selection and nudge)
4. with the healing and clone tool you can use caps locks to more accurately line up lines etc, but I miss not having the brush size circle in this mode. Maybe there should be a third mode? OR even better how about a little preview box that appears (like some panorama stitching programs) as I find it very tricky to line up accurately cloning say, lines on a building.
5. I browse and flag the pix I want to use but would like to rate them 1-9 as well. How about a short cut cmd-'1 , cmd-'2 , cmd-'3 etc instead of the usual cmd-' ? (although a bit awkward on a laptop) or is there something already I have missed?
6. I tend to work in full screen mode and have programmed F1 to show or hide the layers palette. Is there a keyboard shortcut to select the next layer up or down (even if the palette is hidden too)?
7. I can use the shortcut "P" to get the pen tool. shift-P gets me the pen tool with squiggly line. But why don't further shift-P 's cycle through the other 3 options? I'm always after the pen+ tool :-( !! After all it works on the lassoo and most other tools !!!
8. Keyboard shortcut to toggle between browser and image?
9. Actions involving JPEGs and Save as seem counter-intuititive. Surely if you've chosen a destination folder that's because you intend to save them there, and if you haven't then the save as recorded should swing into action? How many times have I forgotten to tick the "Overide Actions "Save As" Commands" box and ended up with an empty folder !!
10. Also; why does the "replace file" dialog box appear (and interrupt the action) if you re-run a jpeg action whereas if it were a tiff it would replace itself. This is especially annoying if running some save-for-web actions on some updated web gallery images to a s-f-web folder (sorry, not very elegantly phrased!)
