After Logmein (Join.me's brother from the same mother) stopped being free last year about this time, I set out to find an alternative solution.

Short version: Teamviewer is about the only one left that works similar to Logmein/Join.me but to use it for free for business you'll have to ignore their license restrictions.

There are other solutions that will work, but for me it was about how difficult it would be for the client. Join.me is pretty drop-dead easy to use when you have a new connection needed.

I ended up paying around $300 one-time fee for unlimited clients, one-connection at a time, one 'host' (me), for ScreenConnect. It has been pretty satisfactory and the company is aggressive about updating, improving, and supporting their product. Worth checking out. It provides both sustained-connections and one-time-use-connections.

As for the Chrome solution, I did try it but I have too much depending on remote-access working to depend on Google's flaky attitude toward their products. (And having Logmein pull the rug out from under me didn't leave a good taste, either.)

Join.me is no longer free. What would you recommend for support clients remotely (where you remote into their machine)?
