It is the age-old question. Some people want God to behave like an ATM with unlimited credit. And I gotta admit that's a nice image. But it aint how it is. I'm 50 now and walked with God for most of my life. If there is an overriding impression of God that I have learned over that time is that His character is good and trustworthy and I trust His decisions. Id still rather have the occasional answer to prayer than none.

Sounds like a mixed up god to me. ------------------------------ Why do we the prayerful community get frustrated that our prayers are not answered? We see it all from the personal level and not on a grander scale. Case in point friend at Church is having a very difficult time with his daughter slowly overcoming massive head trauma from an accident in New Orleans last fall. Drs found cancer in the brian in one of the bazillion tests they have run. She has limited physical ability today after the accident, and has a real hard time in the short term memory arena which frustrates her big time. This gal just started college and her test scores to get into school put her at the top in SAT scores. Today can can barely remember squat. So we have this group of people who are praying to help their daughter, nice, friends family come to grips with just what was Gods plan? Is this event an enabler for the Dr who will come up with a better treatment? Or was it to make a statistic for the people of the community that they need to replace the stop sign that was run with a traffic light? -- Stephen Russell Sr. Production Systems Programmer First Horizon Bank Memphis TN 901.246-0159 [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox@leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/007c01c9857f$a11664f0$e3432e...@com.au ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
