LogMeIn does the trick for me. As long as you don't need remote printing or 
file transfer, the free version should accomplish what you want. I do most of 
my remote access work with clients via that these days. They buy one Pro 
license for me ('cause I'm special) and often install the free version on their 
desktop systems for remote training/troubleshooting.
