I use VNC over OpenVPN tunnel. I support the local office here in Hollister, and remote offices in Florida, Texas, and Georgia, as well as road-warriors in various parts of the country. As long as the given computer currently has an internet connection, I can vnc to it without any interaction required on their part. Of course, I had to set up OpenVPN and VNC at first.
