what I understood with my rudimentary French is that you can request a key for
free.

No. WMS is constant work. I don't know how to convert the WMS capability sheets
into something usable
automatically. That is why the information is converted by hand into a
simplified xml structure. And those
files need to be maintained over the time. The goal is to cut everything that
needs constant support. If it is
not simple enough everyone can do it, it is dropped.
But if anyone thinks QMapShack needs to support WMS, donate the code. It's much
easier to do with QMS
than with QLGT. And as long as the code is working or maintained in the case of
a bug, it's fine for me.
