Without appearing to side with the devil here, can someone tell me what the conflict of interest is in regards to? Lots of messages flying around, and as usual, few facts. I see Carl's Web site and it seems he tried to make a run to be a Director, was told by the ARRL that for some reason that his being a Director would be a "conflict of interest". What does Carl do? Does he work in the communications industry? Does he sell amateur radio gear? I see his sworn statement that promises that there won't be a conflict of interest. But I'm still trying to figure out what the conflict is...? If he owns AES, CQ Magazine or something like that then I'd have to agree there is a conflict of interest. What gives?
