Now it may very well be that they took a look at Carl and just decided they didn't like the cut of his jib and wanted to keep him out. Obviously that would be bad. On the other hand, there may be a very good reason why they think that his professional work would conflict with the ARRL in which case they would be justified in their decision. I don't know Carl from Adam but I'm willing to bet that he's a great guy and only has the best interest of amateur radio in mind. But just because he says his work doesn't conflict with ham radio and just because he promises not to take work from clients that would cause a conflict of interest, I'm not sure that is good enough. Heck, I voted for George Bush in 2000 because he said he was against "nation building". Yet here we are in 2005 having spent $600 billion tax dollars to build two different nations.  So I suppose that things change and what people promise not to do one year might not agree with what they actually do in another. Eh? 73 de Jeff PS -- Sometimes one needs to really read and investigate things about The League...and then one might reach the conclusion that criticism is not bashing, if in fact ARRL isn't acting on the up and up. I read. I read a lot. I have carefully studied the history of amateur radio and have concluded that it would not at all exist today if were not for the tireless work of the ARRL. I think the folks who work there are paid very little and that leads me to conclude that they love what they do. I don't think people who love what they do intentionally try to destroy what they do.
