" Personally, I'm a little shaky with Appa's 52-53 length chainstays. "

I'm not sure I follow what this means. Does this mean:

a. I've ridden a bike with 53cm chainstays, and the ride was unstable.
 When I ride a bike with 53cm chainstays, I'm a little shaky
b. I don't believe there is any benefit to longer chainstays. In my
opinion, if it aint broke dont fix it, and 45cm stays aint broke. By
"shaky", I mean "I don't see any benefit".
c. something else

Either one is fine, of course. When I get my 55 Appaloosa I will
absolutely be comparing it to my 58cm (700C) Atlantis. My 56cm singleTT
canti-Hillborne is set up as a stripped down road bike, so I wouldn't
consider that really a fair comparison.
