To clarify my original post (which upon rereading and reflection is in need of 
clarification):

I did not mean she owed anyone an explanation for her absence. Nor that she had 
an obligation to share details about herself, situation, or life she did not 
want to share. I did mean that it would have been nice to post something in May 
or June or whenever just saying she was taking a break. She had no obligation 
to do this but by July/August people were genuinely worried about her (if you 
don’t believe me do a quick google search). There were suggestions she was 
sick, caring for a sick parent, done with cycling, hurt, or just moved on to 
something else. Should I apologize that I worried about her? That after 8+ 
years of following her blog I felt a connection to her as a fellow cyclist? I 
won’t apologize for that. 

I wish her all the best. I am sure she will come through this stronger and 
wiser. That the light at the end of the tunnel is there and real and reachable.
