Your clarification is a rewrite. You said it "wasn't right" that she didn't update, and "unnecessary." I'm sorry, but you can't just erase the original statement - which seemed bizarrely harsh to me - and pretend the current one is what you really meant. You can apologize and revise..that's the ticket.
