I see nothing malicious or offensive in this post, just an opinion about
what he would have preferred.

In brief:
Glad she is doing well.
Don't think it was right to stop the blog with no explanation.
Free to do what she wants, but appears she could have told us something,
since she was in fact updating her knitting blog during this time
I will likely take my business elsewhere
I wish her well.

I'm not sure why so much disapprobation is being reigned down here. As
Velouria said, "We're all adults here." We are, right? It's fair game to
point out that there can be circumstances that make it difficult for
someone to even do something as seemingly simple as update their blog. But
beyond that, I think we risk getting into moralizing or passing judgments.
Velouria created not only a blog but a public internet persona, and a
sizable readership. Different readers will have different expectations in
terms of what all that means when the blogging stops. She doesn't owe
anyone an explanation, but at the same time, readers can disagree with how
she handled it, and stop reading.Nothing terribly wrong with that. Now, if
she can make writing about knitting compelling, I'll be* really* impressed.
