Chelsea and Manchester United have set up online exchanges where season ticket holders can sell spares to members. Prices are fixed and will be calculated as a fraction of the cost of a season ticket - a system that has already been used for sports in the United States. Touts who are banned from buying tickets will also be barred from the exchanges, the clubs said. The sites are hosted by US firm viagogo which runs ticket exchanges for American football, basketball and ice hockey teams. It will take commission on the sale of each ticket, with fans receiving 85% of its face value. The sites are expected to spread to other Premiership sides and other sports should they prove successful.' --------------------------------- [41] Head to heads vs Fulham --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: from BBC League: Man Utd 29 wins, Fulham 10, Draws 13 Prem: Man Utd 6 wins, Fulham 1, Draws 3 HEAD TO HEAD at Manchester U League: Man Utd 21 wins, Fulham 2, Draws 3 Prem: Man Utd 4 wins, Fulham 1, Draws 0 --------------------------------- [40] Ref tomorrow is --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: Andre Marriner When you plan to have a bet - use Sporting Odds through us http://www.sportingodds.com/index.asp?tpid=2983 http://www.sportingodds.com/index.asp?tpid=2983 --------------------------------- [39] Squad for tomorrow --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Neville, O'Shea, Brown, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Ronaldo, Park Ji-Sung, Scholes, Giggs, Saha, Rooney, Rossi, Evans, Evra, Richardson, Fletcher. --------------------------------- [38] Rooney fit for tomorrow --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: FErgie tells press today --------------------------------- [37] O'Shea --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: "I am sure the manager is trying to get a few more players in before the deadline. It all adds to the competition but we need that. Every season since I have been at Old Trafford there have been players signed in my position, and other players coming in. I look forward to it. It's the type of challenge you have to face at a top club. When a new player arrives, you up your game, which is something the manager wants to see and lifts the tempo in the squad, and normally the results are positive." --------------------------------- [36] McClaren wants Rio going forward for England --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: "He looked like a midfield player. He saw the space and he went into it. We were trying to work on outnumbering the opposition in certain areas. Sometimes it means coming out from the back. We talk about full-backs but centre-halves don't do it as much. Rio is capable of doing that, he showed that. We had talked about it but hadn't done any work on it. You talk about blend and balance and putting square pegs in square holes and it then becomes natural. What Rio did was natural to him and because it worked he got more confidence from it." --------------------------------- [35] Hargreaves on outlook --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: "You cannot please everyone in life. I can understand where some people are coming from and why they have a perception about me. But a lot of people have never seen me play or know me at all. I just want to get my head down, work very hard and take my chance when it comes. That is what has happened to me in the past and I just hope to get a few more opportunities." The other things are not really down to me. On the one side, you would like to have it sorted, but so far I'm playing good football and that is the main thing." --------------------------------- [33] Fergie on Hargreaves (oh, oh, in Gill's 'capable' hands!) --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: "We have been trying to negotiate with Bayern Munich for quite a while now and of course the boy has said he would like to join United. We would like to have him here. It is in David Gill's capable hands. He's doing his best. You can never be confident but we are hopeful. We are dealing with a big club in Bayern Munich. The relationship between the two clubs has always been good. We would have preferred Ruud van Nistelrooy to join them because that may have helped us with the Hargreaves situation. That wasn't to be. But hopefully we can get something done." --------------------------------- [32] Boa Morte on Ronaldo --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: Luis Boa Morte "We didn't even see Ronaldo do the wink - we only saw it in the papers. It is unfair when you say he tried to get Rooney sent off. What happened happens in football and we should put it behind us. I am up against Ronaldo but I am just trying to look after Fulham - that's my job. It isn't true Ronaldo got Rooney sent off. I'm not going to say how Ronaldo will handle this situation because who knows what is going through his head or at his club? That is for them to deal with." --------------------------------- [31] Oliver Kahn on Hargreaves --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: "If after the departures of Ballack and Ze Roberto, Owen was to leave as well it would mean the loss of three of Europe's top players at once. "One wonders how we would compensate for that." --------------------------------- [30] McClaren on Hargreaves --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: "As long as he keeps playing his football like that, I'm not bothered where he plays." Everything has been gearing towards that Manchester United encounter and the start of the season. At Wigan I had a bit of a free role. Graham Kavanagh would sit in so it's quite similar here with Papa. Hopefully I can get on with my game and it won't be too different. The gaffer just tells me to go out, play and just do what I can." --------------------------------- [28] Gary Nev on Ruud --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: "Players do leave the club, it happens. It's happened over the past 10 or 12 years. Ruud had a great goalscoring record but time moves on and we've got really good young forwards, Alan Smith, Wayne Rooney, Giuseppe Rossi and obviously Louis Saha. And then there's other players who can play there as well like Scholesy (Paul Scholes) and Giggsy (Ryan Giggs). Ruud starts a new career somewhere else and Manchester united keep going. That's the way it's always been." --------------------------------- [27] Gary Nev on title --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: "That's the trophy we want this season. We obviously have ambitions to do well in the other trophies but we have always said the bread and butter is the Premier league. We can't wait for it to get started. We've got a game against Fulham on Sunday, a new stadium if you like, of 75 000 people, and what a great platform to go out and put on a good show and let people know we're actually here to do something this season. We have underachieved the last three years. We have to be winning championships." http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-795737-10379645 Check http://www.rednews.co.uk to view the image which has been removed from plain text email version of news http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-795737-10380073 Dorm rooms to dreams rooms from just £7 per night Check http://www.rednews.co.uk to view the image which has been removed from plain text email version of news http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-795737-10376818 Check http://www.rednews.co.uk to view the image which has been removed from plain text email version of news --------------------------------- [26] Looking for a decent boozer near OT where you don't have to queue ages for a pint? --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: http://www.thevillageinnmotel.co.uk/ http://www.thevillageinnmotel.co.uk/ The Village Inn Motel Third Avenue Trafford Park Manchester M17 1DQ Telephone: 0161 886 0950 --------------------------------- [25] Gary Nev will protect Ronaldo --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: "We always protect our own. Right the way back to David Beckham coming back from a tournament, my brother in 2000, it has always been the case where United will protect its own players. It happened again this summer with Cristiano and Wayne, but he is at the right place and he'll be protected by the manager, who is brilliant at doing that. The players will never have any problem. What happens in an international game has got nothing to do with what happens at Manchester United." I saw exactly what happened with what Wayne did and I saw exactly what Cristiano's reaction was. I don't have a problem with Cristiano for that, I swapped shirts with him after that. The English will always come up with excuses and scapegoats for why they haven't won and this time it was Cristiano. The reason we lost the game was because Wayne got sent off, which he knows about, we didn't score the penalties and we didn't get the goal. It was nothing to do with Cristiano why we didn't win that tournament." --------------------------------- [23] Fergie confirms at Friday press conference --------------------------------- Posted Friday, August 18, 2006 by ed: that we are trying to sign Hargreaves ------------------------------------------------------------------------ For United books, videos, DVDs etc http://www.rednews.co.uk/ama.php?id=amazon ------------------------------------------------------------------------ For the very latest news check out the website: http://www.rednews.co.uk Yahoo!
