I guess I should have included abit more info.
It's a server that is running the modem pool. Therefore no win95 or dos
partition on the hard drive or in the box actually. =) And we are using a
serial port board (boca BB2016 - which is not suppose to support 56K -
guess we shouldn't use a 56K modem on it =), and I don't even want to think
about playing with setserial, as that could wreak the board's settings (of
course a reboot would reset it though)
I'm at a total loss as to why the USR Sporsters are dieing off like this.
Owell, I've heard some ISP's love them and other swear at them. Guess I'll
just be one of the swearing ones. ;)
I forwarded the responses to our president (the one that should NOT have
been buying hardware ;) and I'll tell him to return the ModemSURFR and buy
a real modem.
