Yalla is an Arabic word through and through, perhaps corrupted by the Turks. Stop trying to see a Coptic background in every daily used word in Egypt. It does it make our language pride if all daily used words in Egypt are Coptic in origin. I know there are many Coptists and Cotic linguists try to do this sort of thing. They may be right in some words but I have seen several ridiculous attempts made.

If it does, what does it really mean and is it used correctly until now? ________________________________________________________________________ Get a FREE AOL Email account with 2GB of storage.
