At the moment, erland uses MusicBrainz id (if present), otherwise uses the file path. Taking this idea, there could be a priority cascade of possible identifiers:
1. MusicBrainz (or similar?) if present in the tags. 2. Flac checksum if a flac file without MB tag 3. Otherwise md5 (or other) hash of audio content This would mean that a large collection of flacs or files with MB tags would not be slowed by the need to perform hashes. -- smc2911 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ smc2911's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4388 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43851 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
