Some of the things you mention I think are doable within the
Musicbrainz framework, but those are good reasons for not doing it. But
I think alot of the data that perfectionist-taggers in particular enter
are useful in general, and its a shame that they never get published. 


Musicbrainz is an ambitious undertaking and contains alot of elaborate
data related to releases. So I've decided to make my tagging-schemes
"compatible" with theirs.  It is a two-headed beast though, the
inevitable use of common formats/standard versus flexibility. I think
MB can improve in both areas, but they are IMO the best solution as of
today.
