i don't have an ipod nor do i use itunes, i hate the way both work.

but i am surprised your ipod doesn't support AA or comp tags.

i'd also look for RG tag support.

it works on genres too, maybe others, but a lot of people here like to
use one value = one field instead.

which way you go pretty much depends on what works best for you and
meets the needs of the apps/devices you use.  i'm not sure if itunes
supports muliple frames, but i've read it doesn't support separator
characters.

unfortunately i can't properly answer this.  i always try to keep
things as simple as possible.  all my tracts have one artist frame with
a value, and one AA frame with a value.

i do know that SC does some things differently when an AA frame value
is present, including some internal things, but those might all be
transparent to the user.

hopefully someone else like one of the Phils or Jim can better answer
tis for you.
