This is indeed how it behaves in my experience too, regardless if it is meant to be so or not. In MP3Tag when I look at extended tags there is only a field named BAND (no ALBUMARTSIST), but in the normal working window it is called ALBUMARIST. And, if I change the tagfield BAND, The ALBUMARTSIST also gets renamed by MP3TAG. I can't set them separate (ID3v2.3 UTF16). That is the 4th case... But in the example you described this is what I get: Tags: Artist field=Page Artist field=Plant AlbumArtist field =Page & Plant In the Browse by Artist list I see: - Page - Page & Plant No Plant. But here comes the compilation setting around again :-) When I set compilation=0 I get: - Page - Plant - Page & Plant So the bug or not, compilation=0 helps me out here.
