Mmm... I read and understand the bugreport. But see what is happening now:
It looks like it is not just 2 situations: Compilation=0 or 1, but it is Compilation=0, 1 or blank (not set). Three different situations What I experience with Compilation setting for my album with gueast artists: 1: Force as compilation and only shown in Various Artists (if named so in settings) 0: Force as non-compilation. Each Artist gets a separate item in the artist list. (Bug) Blank: SC sorts itself. Multiple Artists are present within this Album and now the Album Artist is shown in the Artist list! So not each track's artist. SC indicates this is a compilation album. It looks that for albums with different artists on 1 album the compilation setting should be left blank. Then I don't have these unwanted multiple items when browsing by Artist. Do I overlook something?
