How would you expect it to treat them?  Since all the tracks don't have
the same artist lineup, who would the album be attributed to?  To
software there's not much difference in having one track different than
the rest and having each track with a unique artist.  I suppose you
could argue that the software could be intelligent enough to see that a
particular artist is present on every track, so that artist should be
the album artist, but it quickly gets too complicated.  For instance,
what if you had an album with 7 tracks from one artist and 6 tracks
from another (I have a number of albums similar to this)?  How could
that be considered anything except a compilation unless the tagging
tells the program otherwise?
