Your best bet would be to upgrade to LMS 7.9. There's a setting under 'My Music' that lets you have both worlds: A browse list showing only 'Album Artists', as well as one containing 'All Artists', which shows all of these additional artists, regardless of whether or not they have other albums. Prior to 7.9, the behavior is pretty flaky, with some convoluted logic having to something do with whether an albums is a compilation or not.
