A good start is the ROM mailing list archives.
I apologize, but I don't know the link or I'd post it for you.

The purpose of the list is for experienced and inexperienced players and
developers to pose questions and answers to a wide array of topics.

Mostly the list will deal with code-related issues.

At times, discussions will develop regarding new implementations or ideas.

I take it you have downloaded the ROM source code?

What is it you'd like to do with it now?

Keep in mind, although the list is (or used to be) active with experienced
coders and builders, it's appreciated if you at least attempt to do
something on your own first. Many people are willing to help, but few are
willing to simply hand over answers effectively doing the work for you.

Hope that help, if nothing more than a little bit.

Then again, there may be one or two of us who are completely new to the
list and have no idea what the purpose, resources, options, etc. might be.

Perhaps the more experienced members here could enlighten us?
