My mistake:

I added the third test because it looked more ugly to me to show a link to
something unused/non-existant than not to show a link while user have an
exotic setup (we have only a few projects at gna that actually use their own
domain, like http://autobuild.org or http://www.livretlibre.org -- these will
loose the viewcvs integrated link; but all the other projets that have their
homepage somewhere have something cleaner, especially the one that have the
homepage somewhere + use arch of SVN for source code).
So ok, this code ignores aliases. Because currently we do not know if an
address is an alias or not.
I do not think we'll change that for release 1.0.6. This should not have
serious impact on running install (as said comment #1, you should make sure
old default address is removed from the database).
And afterwards, we'll have to decide whether it is worth adding one more field
in the database.
Since I think we are only talking about very few project, we could easily say
that site admins, for these projects could allow them to configure their
viewcvs address (granted, looking at the code, I'm not even sure this would be
enough -- but if it does not work, this will have to be fixed, it would be a
bug, not a matter of decision)
