Re: (313) what's up with Ultradyne?
I'm calling this a hiatus. In Mimai I was out and about too much to do anything; enjoying the sun for a while. I move up to North Carolina 2 years ago and haven't had the space (small condo downtown with sensitive neighbors). I once got a noise complaint whilst watching Law and Order. :) Once I get situated in the correct environs, we shall see. I'm moving to Puerto Rico soon, so hopefully that will provide the happy medium. I have been thinking about it more lately though. The whole ordeal left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I'll spare the details. Re: (313) London SPAM: Ultradyne and B12 Friday, Lory D and Errorsmith Saturday
Lory D is the man ;) He created some really cool acid-techno. He was closely involved with that early italian experimental techno sound like the releases on Plasmek and Final Frontier. I don't recall him ever releasing on those labels but just mentioning them here as audio reference ;) If i call correctly rephlex re-released some of his earlier material a couple of years back. Re: (313) London SPAM: Ultradyne and B12 Friday, Lory D and Errorsmith Saturday
yes, he IS the man. he had a seminal label called Sounds Never Seen and also a small imprint called Elektronische Outboarding Cast on which he released a killer electro 12. IIRC correctly ha also released material on the now legendary roman label ACV (Robert Armani released on ACV as well...). He is seen somewhat as a god here in rome, since the heydays of the roman rave scene back in the day. The Rephlex release is a collection of his best releases on SNS as well as 2 original tracks i think. He has started playing live again after a break and he has returned to form - expect dirty techno, electro and chicago inspired sound. fab. - Original Message - From: Klaas-Jan Jongsma [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313 Mailinglist List 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Thursday, April 19, 2007 5:31 PM Subject: Re: (313) London SPAM: Ultradyne and B12 Friday, Lory D and Errorsmith Saturday Lory D is the man ;) He created some really cool acid-techno. Hi Ryan, PGM003 is actually a release from an artist on called Tangible (Dr. Robot on 313). It will be out shortly. Test pressings are complete and I'm waiting to hear back from some distributors. You can hear some audio snippets at the site below under Images/Audio. PGM004 will be coming in 2 months and will include some Ultradyne, Dopplereffekt, and others. From: Peter B Leidy [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [313] Ultradyne page on mp3.com according to www.formic.de, Ultradyne is 1/2 of Dopplereffekt, they also have an lp on a label called Pai Gao Movement... :) Thats their own label I believe. I have one 12/LP on it - really good stuff - like Drexciya but could mix nicely with all hard Rephlex stuff - the old Life After Mutation on Hood's hardwax label is a good comparison too. Some of the MP3.com tracks are on the vinyl. They also had a 12 on Warp, _E. Coli_ a few years back. Not sure about the 1/2 of Dopplereffekt but perhaps. Who knows :) On Fri, 6 Oct 2000, Minto Chempotical George wrote: artists.mp3s.com/artists/31/ultraydyne.html || [CiM] || [EMAIL PROTECTED] || [EMAIL PROTECTED] _ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Elektroids (was: Ultradyne)
Talking about this... Warp seems to have released a whole lot of Detroit people in their early years, mostly electro stuff - and I'm curious to know if anybody knows more about this weird Elektroids LP EP ? are they UK or Detroit ? other releases under other aliases ? Re: [313] Elektroids (was: Ultradyne)
For those who havent found it on the Elekroids cd the is a 'hidden' track about 4mins of silence after the last listed track. This track appeared on the last Drexciya cd so i guess its safe to say Elekroids = Drexciya - Original Message - From: Gwendal Cobert [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Monday, October 09, 2000 2:32 PM Subject: [313] Elektroids (was: Ultradyne) Talking about this... Re: [313] Ultradyne page on mp3.com
Well this is pretty cool...like drexciya much? The first two tracks tracks are a little off kilter rhythmically which is an acquired taste. Terrorista is my favorite so far. Electro with what sounds like severe abuse of a noise reduction plugin... Catalysm is a nice electro track, kind of Aux88-esque but a little more sinister, nice messed up vocal samples.
