Tidal HiFi uses a heavy compression scheme, and the Classic is not really up to the job. Some albums are just too much for it. I had to reconfigure my setup to let the LMS do the decoding instead of passing the job to the Classic. There are some threads about it around the forum. Have a look at 'this post' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?113565-Tidal-Stuttering-with-Squeezebox-Classic&p=1001777&viewfull=1#post1001777). Re: [slim] Problem playing back audiobooks
Just to wrap this up, I was able to convert some of the problematic files. The first batch I converted to 44.1 Hz/mono and those played on my squeezebox classic, but iPeng on my iPhone did not play those. I converted the rest to 44.1/stereo and those played on both. Re: [slim] Problem playing back audiobooks
All the problematic tracks are listed as "mono" others that work are "stereo". All the files play normally on my computer. It does seem like the sped up tracks are playing 2x as fast as they should. So... I used VLC and converted some of the problem tracks. The outcome was: tracks I converted to stereo, but kept the 22.1 Hz setting still did not play. Tracks that I changed both the mono to stereo and Hz to 44.1 all played fine. [slim] Problem playing back audiobooks
Hello I have recently revived my old squeezebox setup using a RPi 4b as the server. Everything is working well, excepting some audiobook files are not playing back properly. The first batch of MP3 show the status bar of the player moving, but I get no audio. These are 22.05 kHz MP3 The second batch of MP4 play back, but the audio is sped up. These are also 22.05 kHz I have other audiobooks, but at different Hz, and those playback fine. I have checked the server log, but it shows no errors during playback. Any help would be appreciate. Re: [slim] Problem with SB line-in connections...receiver produces no sound...advice appreciated
As a follow-up to my own post, here's a puzzling discovery: A just tested my CD player with the "Video" line-in of the receiver and with the "CD" line-in, and in both cases the CD player worked with receiver with no problems whatsoever. So, there's something about the relationship between the SBs (Touch and Classic) and the line-in of the receiver. radish112's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11591 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110294 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Problem with SB line-in connections...receiver produces no sound...advice appreciated
I have a Touch and a Classic. The Touch has long been connected to my receiver, and the Classic has long been connected to my integrated amp. This morning I turned on the Touch, but could get no sound. After much fiddling around I swapped the SBs, now connecting the Classic to the receiver and the Touch to the integrated amp. In this arrangement the Touch worked with no problem, but now the Classic produced no sound. So it appears that the problem lies with the receiver's line-in connections. (I tried both a "Video" line-in and a "CD" line-in, but neither resulted in sound from the connected SB.) Interestingly, the receiver's Phono line-in works, and I can play LPs just fine. Then I heard a very, very faint sound from the SB connected to the troublesome receiver via the "Video" line-in. Sure enough, when I turned the receiver's volume knob up all the way, I could hear the SB, but at very low volume. But there was still no sound whatsoever via the "CD" line-up when I swapped the interconnects. The only thing that has changed in my system is the addition of a Schiit Magni headphone amp/preamp, and a Schiit Modi DAC. Back in early January I connected these to the receiver that is giving me problems. Until this morning this set-up functioned just fine. One more thing: For a couple of weeks I had my turntable on top of my receiver. There was about a 2" clearance between the turntable and the receiver, and I always turned off the receiver when it was not in use (well, it was in "Standby" mode rather than "On" mode, so it still received power). I guess there's a possibility that this created the problem, "burning out" the line-in connections, but I don't know enough about electronics to know if this could be the case. Although this is, strictly speaking, not a Squeezebox issue, I'd be grateful for any guidance you can provide. As a sanity check - make both the flac and sox exe acutally run on your system. In a command prompt window try going (i.e. CD) to the C:\PROGRA~2\SQUEEZ~1\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\ directory and then run try running flac.exe and sox.exe - they should eachproduce a banner message. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108796 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Problem can't open file for:
Hi Michael - I recently started receiving this error whenever playing FLAC files with sample rates greater than 48khz. The problems started occurring after updating to Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1536072399 @ Tue Sep 4 17:08:12. No errors in server.log. I have worked around this by overwriting the files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread with older versions (from 2015). Which particular file? Would going back to 7.9.1 work, too? We did indeed update flac/sox last week. Hopefully they didn't break this... What does server.log say when you try to play such a file? You'll probably have to enable logging for player.source to get more information. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Problem can't open file for:
Do I do this after I’ve updated LMS or followed the instruction from the Max2play link? That link suggests using a different plugin (which I'm surprised to see alive, still). I wouldn't do that, as I'm the author of Spotty :-). Please enable logging for plugin.spotty. Play with it, grab the log file Sorry, how do I do this? Go to Settings/Advanced/Logging, find plugin.spotty and set it to INFO. Apply. Then there's a link to grab the files at the top. Settings/Advanced/Spotty would tell you which binary it's using, what version. What does it say? -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I think the server is returning the MIME type as "application/octet-stream" which in default LMS is set up to be mp4 - in which case it will fail. If you don't play MP4 you could change the types.conf file and move the MIME "application/octet-stream" from mp4 to the mp3 set of MIME types. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102329 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

With iPeng and under iOS 7 even connecting devices through AirPlay will give you pretty good sync, at least if the AirPlay device doesn't add a delay of it's own (iPeng compensates for the AirPlay delay but can't compensate for what the device itself or amps/DACs/... behind it add). My experience is that recentlySqueezeLite on Linux syncs pretty well, too. On Windows, I'm sure you'll needs to use an ASIO driver to ever get decent sync, I believe there's a SqueezePlay build that supports it. [slim] Problem to synchronize different devices
Hi all, I have a mixed squeezelite configurations at home. One is an odroid (similar to raspberry but most powerful) device where I have installed squeezelite from squeezeplug and the other one is a windows pc with an squeezelite emulator downloaded from this webpage: http://code.google.com/p/squeezelite/ (windows version). I use a Synology Nas as a LMS server and I manage all of them with orange squeeze (android mobile) Working alone they work perfect but when I have to synchronize both, seems that there are a few delay between them. To be honest is just a few delay (maybe 0.5 seconds +-) but if both devices are closed you can hear that there are a few delay between them. Is that normal?? Could be caused by different squeezelite versions??(windows and linux) Would be help if all devices used the same squeezelite version?? (all windows version, all linux version ) Or simply that synchronize not works fine in emulator versions?? Thanks in advance. ryuks's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62849 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101762 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] problem with logging into squeezebox
It's quite straightforward to set up, but if you have any difficulty you can always burn a new image to the SD card... I boot first with a wired connection to the router, then set up wifi. I don't use keyboard, mouse or monitor - I use ssh from my laptop to connect. If you are using a hard drive with the music files you're likely to need a powered USB hub. If you're using the Pi only as a player (rather than a server) I'd recommend looking at piCorePlayer - see the long thread in the Linux/Unix forum.
