Re: [JAWS-Users] Facebook Question
Yeah, this works, and is ok if you've only liked a few pages. But m.facebook.com is designed to have barely any text on the screen, for mobile users. This means you have to keep hitting the "see more" button over and over and over again until you find the one you want. Not a very efficient solution, in my opinion. Better to just type in what you are looking for in the search box, even though in a way it circumvents the way we are told facebook is supposed to operate. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Laura Richardson Sent: January 23, 2018 8:05 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Facebook Question I use Jaws 18 and m.facebook.com I press enter on the word profile and then arrow down and press enter on likes. Re: [JAWS-Users] Facebook Question
Yes, Dennis, that is the option I am talking about. However, it's not ideal. You should be able to have the names appear in links, say, in mid-sentence. That's what most people do. When they make a post, tryping in a person's name highlights that name and automatically turns it into a link. It looks like, unless someone has another solution, "tag friends" is pretty much the only thing you can do with m.facebook.com. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Dennis Long Sent: January 23, 2018 2:25 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Facebook Question I tag people all the time there is a button when you are sharing a post it says tag friends button press it check the ones you want tagged hit done and presto. [JAWS-Users] facebook question
Good evening, How to I tag someones name to appear in my post. Thank you Kathy For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
Re: [JAWS-Users] facebook question
From the regular fb site, simply type the at sign which is shift and number two under the function keys along with their name. You can down arrow and press enter once you find the name. I say down arrow because after pressing the @ sign and the first letter of the name, it might not be the person you are looking for, unless you type the entire name and then it will pick it up. It's kind of like how the auto complete works in outlook. The mobile site on m.facebook.com site takes a little longer so I just tag from the regular site. Here is how you tag from the mobile site, if you have a day to spair... After typing the post, don't press enter, simply down arrow and there will be unlabled buttons, press spacebar on the last one, then the next thing you will need to do is press the letter b to navigate by buttons, and press spacebar on the first unlabeled button and then you will be in a dialog with your friends name, check the box of the friend you would like to tag, press x to navigate from checkbox to checkbox, press b until you here done, press spacebar, then press b until you here post and press spacebar to post the post. From the mobile site, when you read it back, if you were to let's say tag me, it will say, Kathy pinstock with Kimsan song and then whatever you posted. On the regular site, it will just say the persons name wherever you tagged them, for example, this is my post I am sending to link Kathy pingstop so I hope she doesn't think I am weird for writing such a stupid post. I hope that helps. Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence. Has anyone in the blind community voiced their opinions/frustrations to the FaceBook people regarding their constantly changing the layout of FaceBook? Re: [JAWS-Users] FaceBook Question
Like others have pointed out, you don't need a mobile app, just use your computer and go to m.facebook.com. I shout this from the highest towers all the time, but seems like no one ever hears it. If any web site, not just FaceBook, gives you trouble, try the mobile version. Mobile versions are usually stripped down, easier to navigate, have fewer graphics, blah blah blah. Audible.com giving you issues, try mobile.audible.com. Not every site has a mobile version. Not all mobile versions are created equal. But it is something to try if the regular site is problematic. There is more than one way to skin a cat online, and it's a shame to miss out, or struggle along, unnecessarily. -- Blue skies. Re: [JAWS-Users] facebook question
hi Aiden I my self have a account on face book but don't go on there that often since as far as I can tell setting up a account and stuff is fine but the rest of the sight doesn't seem to be that accessible with jaws. Maybe other people have had better luck with this but that is just my experience using face book. hth. from Mich Verrier. - Original Message - From: aiden gardiner [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, August 19, 2008 12:19 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] facebook question Hi all, This subject may've been covered before, if so, appologies.
