Hendrik makes a very valid point, and one that pretty much applies to any used
car purchased. That is, spend the money up front for the very best example you
can find. You'll be better off than buying a fixer-upper or one that needs
work, as it will most likely end up costing you more.

The lighter socket (IIRC) is limited to 150w. Directly wired to the battery
would do 400w. With a motorcycle battery mine would run my 1/2hp sump pump up
to 5 feet high which sadly isn't enough to get water out of my basement. I
never retried with a bigger battery.

So the way to do it would be to hardwire the inverter under the hood and run an
orange extension cord up the rain gutter into the cabin to the crockpot.

Thats 20a, how well is the the 55a alt going to keep up? I suppose if you had a
long ride and let it recharge from the startup for a few minutes before you
turned on the crock pot. Best to not use the lights/wipers/heat/ac... :)

during landing.

The report says the incident took place as the Flybe flight from
Birmingham, carrying 47 passengers, was approaching Belfast City

The 46-year-old pilot had shortly before checked that his prosthetic
lower left arm was securely attached to the yoke clamp, but as he
performed a maneuver just before touchdown the limb became detached.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch said Thursday he then moved his
right hand to the yoke to regain control. Winds caused the plane to

could only fly with the one FAA [UK equivalent] approved artificial limb
which was certified for flight, no substitute permitted. It had to be
inspected pursuant to it's own overhaul manual and repair cycle by the one

Re: [MBZ] Chowdah Q

2014-08-20 Thread Curt Raymond via Mercedes
What you got for a stove? Boat stoves are cool.

Last year I brought 2 two burner stoves which turned out to be excessive. I'm
planning to bring just one this year. I did bring a single burner last year to
make tea for Fred. I like single burner stoves so I'll bring another this year.

This all reminds me that I have a gift for Dimitri that was supposed to arrive
before ChowdaQ last year but didn't. Fred and Dwight have already gotten theirs.

After difficulties cooking clamcakes on a propane burner I have threatened to
bring my little 2 stroke generator to run Dwight's electric fryer. He says
we're not going to do clamcakes this year due to low demand. I will be doing

Its actually one of the complaints I have about where I work, the head pats are

Now that I think of it maybe I need to make sure I give Angie enough

There is an exception to that rule. If you to plan on a restoration, it
pays to purchase a *running car* as cheaply as possible so you can take
your time in making the most cost effective improvements at a leisurely
pace.. This explains my 18 year enjoyment and simultaneous restoration of
a 1970 280SE 3.5 coupe that had lots of issues, but I could at least drive
it safely while fixing and restoring things.

Mileage is not be all to end all, sure the preverbial driven to church
on Sundays by a little old rich lady, who took the car in every year for

Anyway if Kalebster wants it, he better get after it, or can wait for

Guess no harm in putting in a low ball offer but 500 would sound silly,

they do have some loss (you cannot have current flowing through a wire

Well, 55A @ 12V is essentially 5.5A @ 120V, and that
doesn't take into account losses, or he fact that the
alternator is really at around 14V, etc.

Better to work in Watts directly. Call it 750W
total for the entire car plus accessories.
