Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: PlayHLS Plugin - plugin to play Apple HLS m3u8 stream
I also noticed that the old repo "http://bpaplugins.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/repo-playhls.xml; shows as "Bad repository http://bpaplugins.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/repo-playhls.xml - 404 Not Found" under plugins (I installed it some time ago). So that's what you've been up to. Most of my music is in FLAC, so the workflow I use to get music to my Android phone has been build a mix in MIP, drag to Foobar, convert to MP3 and then copy the MP3 to the SD card on my phone using ES File Explorer, play using Media Monkey for Android. A challenge - convert lossless to MP3 on the way through ! A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: YouTube Plugin
Thanks for the pm. The Youtube plugin is working for me now. In my API key credentials I left the space blank for referrer web sites. Is that a security risk? Can someone stream something to my Squeezeboxes or is the API just a way for me to search Youtube for URLs. See quote below: * Accept requests from these HTTP referrers (web sites) (Optional) Use asterisks for wildcards. If you leave this blank, requests will be accepted from any referrer. Be sure to add referrers before using this key in production. You have not set any referrers. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play on Odroid U3 : nfs mount Synology Diskstation music folder
I reinstated my old Raspberry Pi running SqueezePlug and I find that I am able to mount the nfs share there without any issues with permissions. The mount command I used there is: mount -o nolock :/volume1/music /mnt/.../music I'm not sure why the "-o nolock" here; I found this in my bash history. No doubt it was advised on some website I found at some point. In any case, I tried this option on the U3 to no avail. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
Fired up my Vortexbox this morning, ready to try Philippe's dev version only to be greeted with "Plugin updates are available (Chromecast bridge)". Over to the plugins page where it said that Chromecast bridge (v0.2.1.0) was available. So, into Putty and systemctl stop squeezeboxserver, then deleted libssl.so and libcrypto.so from /usr/lib64, then systemctl start squeezeboxserver. Into the gui, Settings / Plugins and installed Chromecast bridge (v0.2.1.0), set it to use squeeze-2-cast-x86-64-static , click apply and away it went ! Gold star for Philippe ! Thank you. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spicefly SugarCube for Android
Hey all, Spicefly SugarCube has been available for LMS for a few years now. I've recently been looking at how I can take it further and specifically how to use MusicIP on my phone, so obviously installing MusicIP on Android isn't possible. So instead I learnt Java and wrote an Android app to link to the MusicIP Server. How it Works Once configured Select Genre, Artist, Filter or Feeling Luck Mix Spicefly SugarCube then connects to your local MusicIP server on your LAN. Gets the Mix result Copies the music files to your phone Creates the playlist to play the music files in the right order The App is currently an alpha testing release only. If you are interested please send me a private message with your email address that is linked to the Play Store and I will add you to the testers list. Note you must have a MusicIP Server setup on your network, otherwise it won't work! :) If you have no idea what MusicIP is and not actively using it, then this app isn't for you yet, see www.spicefly.com for more information and get scanning. Cheers www.spicefly.com - ** Spicefly SugarCube ** - A hassle free acoustic journey through your music library using MusicIP. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play on Odroid U3 : nfs mount Synology Diskstation music folder
Not really sure whether this should go in this forum, 3rd party hardware or Linux but I'll try here as it might be Max2Play specific. Basically, I am tearing my hair out trying to get my music folder, on a Synology DS215j NAS, mounted as an nfs share in my Max2Play system running on an Odroid U3. This set up is fairly new to me. The annoying thing is that I had this working until yesterday but then I rebooted the Odroid. I have never been able to get it to work via the Max2Play web interface but I previously got the mount to work via the command line having ssh'ed into the Odroid. Stupidly, I did not write down what I did, nor did I capture it in the fstab, and I find that the bash history is not preserved between reboots. I have followed the' Synology instructions for setting up the share' (https://www.synology.com/en-uk/knowledgebase/DSM/tutorial/File_Sharing/How_to_access_files_on_Synology_NAS_within_the_local_network_NFS). These suggest that doing something like: mount :/volume1/music /mnt/music should work (I have created the target directory on the Odroid). In fact the mount does work but the problem is with permissions. If I do ls -a /mnt/music, I see this sort of thing: d- 7 1026 users 4096 nov 11 2015 flac flac is one of the subdirectories of the music folder I am sharing from the NAS. All I can think is that I previously used some additional options with the mount command. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.*
I'm totally open to suggestions how to add such a feature for Synology users (either the disabling of MySB integration or the generalized one of adding command line options to the start/stop script) in a way that benefits the community as whole. Martin's idea was to write a plugin. If I were to propose a patch or pull request to slimserver.pl that changed the constant NOMYSB to some callback or variable (to be able to be overridden by a plugin), I'm pretty sure you would reject it, no? Can't say. If your patch was looking great, why not include it? There are two reasons why I haven't done this myself (yes, I considered a pref to disable mysb.com integration): - users tend to fiddle with settings without understanding them. They have disabled stuff they were missing soon after. - There's not much reason to use this configuration already. It's rather exotic. And most users wishing such an exotic setup can easily get there. From my PoV it's really something I put in there to test and be prepared for the day when we no longer _need_ mysb.com integration, because it will be gone. Actually, I got a third reason. Rather technical and probably even more esoteric: - using a constant the excluded code would not even be compiled by Perl at startup time. Using a variable that's not the case. Using the constant saves you a few CPU cycles and some bytes. > Sidenote: The answer to that is "maybe". The shell script is certainly > not the problem, but updating Synology packages from the command line is > not documented anywhere and the synopkg utility - unlike the other syno* > CLI tools - does not provide any helpful feedback at all. I am creating the Youtube API key for use with your youtube plugin. I was not sure how to fill out where it asks for URLs. I searched but could not find a post that describes this. See bottom for a quote from the API page. 1. Do I have to put the URL for my LMS for both URLs? For example: http://192.168.1.1:9090 or :9000? 2. My server is behind a firewall, so the actual server IP address is not seen by the outside world 2 Create an OAuth 2.0 client ID Name Restrictions Enter JavaScript origins, redirect URIs, or both Authorized JavaScript origins For use with requests from a browser. This is the origin URI of the client application. It can't contain a wildcard (http://*.example.com) or a path (http://example.com/subdir). If you're using a nonstandard port, you must include it in the origin URI. Authorized redirect URIs For use with requests from a web server. This is the path in your application that users are redirected to after they have authenticated with Google. The path will be appended with the authorization code for access. Must have a protocol. Cannot contain URL fragments or relative paths. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: YouTube Plugin
Philippe - amazing work. I've been able to get the Youtube plugin working, which is brilliant as Youtube is my main source of music now. It works really well and pretty reliably too. I had a feature request which you can feel free to ignore! I would love it if there was an option to autoplay Youtube's "next suggested video" (like watching videos natively on Youtube does). This would allow me to add a single video and get an auto-generated playlist. Keep up the good work!!! askvictor - really nice app. Really easy to use. Thanks for sharing it. I have a couple of feature requests which you can completely ignore if you'd like! - Ability to send a playlist URL. At the moment, I can only send individual videos, but I'd love to be able to send whole playlists. - Ability to append video to the existing playlist instead of overwrite the existing playlist. This way I can build up a playlist using your app. Thanks again, and as I say feel free to ignore these requests. They are just a couple of things I would love to be able to do with the app. Keep up the good work! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.*
I'm sorry if what I wrote came over too harshly. I certainly don't want anyone else "to do my job for me". However, this is not about finding a solution for my particular problem/installation, but about making a generalized version of that available to community at large. Also, I didn't want to suggest that the included patch was by any means a perfect implementation that could not be improved or even should be included as-is. Reinventing the wheel and providing a second set of update packages is not a solution for anyone: It would be confusing for users, provide a lot of work for me and probably some misdirected support questions for Martin. (I've since contacted Synology with a feature suggestion for their LMS package, but knowing their support, I doubt it will reach an actual developer anytime soon.) pputzer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36842 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103636 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
