be a miss- spelling.

Dear Caroline,Greetings! The name would probably have been Raposo da Costaand
you should certainly continue to search for your ancestry. But I would like to

I think the modern spelling is Honorio, but I'm not entirely certain.

The Internet is a wonderful place to look stuff up... I take it the RR book
is "Genealogias de São Miguel e Santa Maria" by Rodrigo Rodrigues.

Margaret... I too am a direct descendant of this couple. Slowly I've been
working my way back and was pretty excited when I found this record.
Angela... what is the RR book (it sounds like something that I should learn
more about)

I wonder if the Henerio could be Honerio or Hnorio that I had for a
brother. Thank you so much for all of your help.

California births began in 1905, but they took about 15 years to be in
compliance.
A variety of CA Birth Indices can be found on the FamilySearch Wiki here:

Hi all,
Just an update on what I have found so far.
I had been focusing my newspaper search to the Santa Cruz County and
Stanislaus County areas, using Newspapers.com, Legacy.com and Archives.com
. Thank you Cheri for the link to the Portuguese papers archives.

We are researching our ancestors Manuel Reposo/Reposa DeCosta from the
Azore Islands who migrated to the Hawaiian Islands. Head of household was
Manuel, wife's name was Maria. Our grandmother Maria Raposa/Raposa Decosta
was born in around 1898 in Hawaii. Our grandmother had a family crest
I forgot to mention that that my ancestors were from the Sao Miguel area of
the Azores. Hoping to find information on Manuel Raposo/Raposa De Costa
family that migrated from the Azores to Hawaii. My grandmother was born in
Hawaii around 1898, Maria Mae/May Reposo/Reposa De Costa.
Thank you
After reading this record, and reading the RR book, i get to the conclusion
that maybe RR got it all wrong.
