Do I understand you correctly, that you only see this problem when you print
the scores on paper, or do you see them also on the screen?
Anyway, the staff lines are not drawn using fonts but with direct PostScript
commands, so there is no reason to suspect the fonts.
The strange thing is that I hav

Try lilypond input/test/coriolan-margin.ly with version 2.3.18
to see that we have some problems with the placement of score
lines. The result is the same, no matter if I use the (now)
default TeX or -fps.

So, I ended up implementing a fix for the problem, which is
included in the CVS for the 2.2.x series. However, since the
solution is fairly ugly, we may want to think about a neater
solution for the development version.

regarding the drum MIDI output, It does great
things, but since I added a few drum notes, I have no idea how to map
those to sounds. The MIDI instrument list in the lilypond documentation
does not seem to list drum parts, is there a place to look for that ?

As was just reported by Jean Connelly on lilypond-user,
there's a predefined identifier \tieDotted in property-init.ly,
but there's no support for dashed ties in tie.cc.
