When did you get your SB1? I got mine in January, and initially had
problems with wireless signal strength which were solved with help
from Rico at Slimdevices support. Here are the relevant emails:

let us know what you find, this is something I will be interested in
doing once I make the plunge and get myself a linkstation.

Hello,
Hope someone here can help, I only have 2 days to sort this problem out before I
lose the option of returning the Squeezebox.
I have a LS1 running PPC Openlink 0.51b, SlimServer 6.1b2 installed, a Belkin
Pre-N wireless AP and a Squeezebox2 running v14 of the firmware.

I have two Squeezebox2's, one in my lounge, one in my bedroom. When I first
got them they worked perfectly but after having the one in the bedroom
disconnected for a number of days whilst redecorating, I now cannot get
them both working again.
When I power up the first player it works fine

it was 2:21 AM and the previous time it was 9:12 AM.

It would be nice to know from the Task Manager if SlimServer was
running and what the CPU and memory situation was like when you were
not getting responses.

You can edit the MAC address by pressing RIGHT when displaying it.
BUT FIRST...
What is the MAC address listed?
What are the MAC addresses listed on the bottom of the players?
We have seen in a few cases where a bug in the firmware on the player
resets the MAC address. We've fixed at least

I've tried this and only ever get the bounce animation. Are you sure
that the hidden editor is still enabled in the firmware 14? I'm

Could it be that firewall settings on your SP2 machine is preventing

That is interesting, what version where you using before? I don't
believe this is an AlienBBC problem, I am sure it is a problem with
mplayer and we don't control that. I have posted a bug report on the
mplayer forum and although someone else had the problem no could offer
