It *sounds like* you are still in AFSK A and not DATA A. By default

You are doing it right.
DATA A mode is like SSB with the following exceptions:
1) TX EQ is disabled in DATA A mode

3) one can set the audio input to LINE IN for DATA A mode - no need to
change it from MIC audio when using data modes.

You can use DATA-A to do LSB too. I do this when I set up the KX3 for packet
radio, because it places the LO just nicely so I can also monitor the local CW
calling channel and my club's SSB frequency, using a separate SDR app on my PC.

The K3 uses up-conversion 6 m, which inverts the sidebands. It should stay in
NORM data mode on 6 meters once you've un-reversed it using the ALT switch.

I know DATA A sets CMP=0, and I think it sets MIC+LIN=OFF

DATA A and AFSK A do not automatically set MIC+LIN=OFF. However,
MIC+LIN *IS* set OFF if you select MENU:MIC SEL=LInE In.

TxEQ is applied tyo all modes which use an audio input: SSB, AM, FM, DATA A.
Making TxEQ by mode is "on the list."

Hi Paul,
All I know is the RX EQ is still enabled in data/cw so my guess is the TX EQ

Shouldn't be the case, because RX EQ has a negative effect on Spot and Text

For convenience, I have generated a number of macros under the HRD
CAT command facility. I assigned them to buttons on the HRD front

For easy identification, part of the macro displays the name on

You could use the following macro till this gets sorted in the firmware:

A similar macro could replace your TX SSB equaliser settings at the touch of
a button. There are more details on a previous posting for RX Equaliser on

other than automatically setting CMP to 0, I can't see much else happening.
