will give you DR practice anyway. All you do is recover the full store...

Exchange 2000 go to the Mailbox Store level properties. Go to the limits
tab. Set your retention time there.
On 5.5
go to the properties of the Private Information store and set the option in the
General Tab.

tape, time, and disk/storespace (BLB restores would kill Single Instance Storage).

I guarantee you you've got another service out there using the same service account
with the old password. It will keep locking out your account until you get it
changed. My suggestion... change the password back to the old password and adjust the
services you know about to get it back runnin
I believe you can also get it out of the service packs...

Did you try telneting mail.domain.com 25 and then do a helo and try to send a message?
This will connect on the smtp port and shouldn't take but a cpl seconds for most
sites.
