Sir recently I saw Ardisia solanacea at Anashi WLS Karnataka, at several
places on a particular track. The new leaves were lighter green and shining
, older leaves were darker green. I have uploaded the same on 10 May '10.

observations:
Agreed, even my Brandis Indian trees say leaves entire, flowers pinkish in
A. solanacea and distantly crenate with white flowers in S. parviflora.

long or longer than limb), and distinct petiole (L. indica not more than 1
mm). An important feature of L. thorelli is also flowers fading or mottled
with white. Here we can see this only in one or two flowers.
Dr. Gurcharan ji, according to Dr. Almeida's flora of Mah. pg 160 , Ardisia
parviflora flowers are white ( not coloured or spotted) and leaves
distinctly crenate. Flowers pinkish or spotted with pink leaves entire are
Ardisia solanacea. I think both the sets are of Ardisia only, with Dinesh
