At the risk of an on-topic post grin, I thought I'd mention that Target
has made MD part of their Olympic advertising in the U.S. They've had an
"electronics" TV commercial running throughout NBC's Olympic coverage
that prominently features an MZR-90. Good to see a "mainstream" home
store

The only problem is that I've yet to see an MD unit in a Target store.

At the risk of aomw people thinking this is spam, I am sure some people

nor do I have any in Peter's operation.
I just got an email from another list that Buy.com has the Sony MZ-R37

Evening, All!
Is there a chain of shops in Japan that specialise in second hand
electronics? A mate of mine's off to there on Saturday, and he's keen to
pick up some cheap, reliable MD gear to bring back to Australia, so any
prompt advice would be very handy!
Cheers,

As you can see, they don't provide the AC adaptor neither the remote control
and rechargeable batteries (all optional or non-related).
So count, a surcharge of $60 approx. for this unit. So in fact the real
price is about $240 US.

I've been getting a lot of e-mails from people who don't understand why
they
can't simply copy the MP3s to MD faster than real time, so I've put
together
a rather lengthy explanation.

considering buying one.
If you have used one, could you please send any comments about it, both good

To stop getting this
Steve,
sorry about not putting in the chipsets etc, that was my fault. here is
what the manual says the chipsets and stuff are. Creative ct5880 sound, it
says both the sound and spdif are optional in the manual but mine came with
both. it appears to set up the sound card as a sound blaster
I have a simple question...where can I buy an in-dash MD player for my car?
Do I have to special order them? It certainly seems no stores carry them..

I have used Sony 100V adapters in the US (my voltage is 120) for years with
no problems. The R-90 has the ability to detect higher than appropriate DC
voltage (it should give the "Hi DC in" error message). So I doubt that is
the problem. You could test this by buying a 120 V transformer
Its almost brand new... Only been charged a few times...

DON'T buy second MD equipment in Japan. There are bargains to be found if your
friend looks hard enough. Stay out of the major retailers if you're looking for true
bargains and find small out of town camera shops that also stock audio equipment.
That's where I always found the best prices
